A reporter from Plastic Industry Network interviewed Xie Mingfei, general manager of the company. In the "Dialogue" column, Mr. Xie will introduce us to FAYGO UNION's special products and operating concepts in detail, and make an in-depth comment on today's plastics industry market. The policy is updated from time to time, the market is more and more complicated, and it depends on how FAYGO responds calmly.
"Plastic Industry": Since the beginning of this year, we have visited many plastic companies, and they all said that the business is very prosperous and the orders are full. How long do you think this situation can last? How did FAYGO UNION sell in the first quarter?
Xie Mingfei: My feelings are similar. The market situation since the beginning of this year has been good. Our sales in the first quarter increased by more than 30% over the same period last year. In general, both domestic and foreign markets have grown. According to my personal analysis of domestic and foreign trade, the market continues to expand, and the overall size of the industry continues to rise. After all, the population is increasing, and the awareness of improvement in backward areas at home and abroad is also increasing. This can also be seen from the increasing number of new factories in recent years. Therefore, the list is still increasing.
But I have reservations about the current domestic trend. At present, the real estate price change is partial, and the impact of previous policies on new house construction has a lag period. I estimate that the large-scale equipment installation this year should be relatively difficult to see in China. The situation of different manufacturers will be different, and some special customized orders will increase significantly. But if the rate of slowdown in the second quarter is not very large, the overall domestic market should be good this year. This year, products produced by FAYGO UNION in terms of technological reform and special customization have increased. I believe sales of FAYGO UNION will continue to rise.
"Plastic Industry": What good news do you think the market currently has?
Xie Mingfei: I think there are two main aspects: firstly, the country vigorously promotes the "Belt and Road" policy and increases investment in countries along the "Belt and Road", so that these countries will gradually promote their own investment in the production of construction materials and household goods. Our opportunity to make equipment is here. We have a good order this year, that is, customers from countries along the “Belt and Road”. Another aspect is that the country promotes industrial policy upgrades and raises product quality standards and energy consumption standards. This policy further raises the threshold for competition in the equipment market, and once again raises manufacturing costs, giving companies that focus on improving equipment performance and new product development a better stage.
"Plastic Industry": Last year, your company exhibited the latest research and development of FG4 series linear bottle blowing machine models. What is the market feedback so far? What unique exhibits will you launch this year?
Xie Mingfei: Last year at CHINAPLAS, our FG4 was the first generation product, and the stable output reached 6500 bottles / hour. The market feedback is very good. The domestic market has blossomed in Hubei, Anhui, Shaanxi and other places. There are customer cases abroad, such as South America, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and Spain. The second set of equipment in the UK is also under negotiation.
This year, CHINAPLAS, FAYGO UNION has two booths at W3 and W4, and will show the second generation of FG4 products.
Compared with the first-generation FG4, our second-generation product has optimized the heat control system, the heating area has been reduced by half, and the heating lamp has only used half of the previous quantity. The distance between PET preforms has been reduced, and the bottle neck cooling protection system is more efficient and energy-saving. In addition, we optimized and improved the variable pitch technology of the preform, and at the same time reformed to servo control, which is faster and more stable. The mold opening and closing system has been strengthened, and the control software program has been optimized to make the machine vibration small and the movement softer, which is conducive to extending the life of parts. Through this series of optimization and innovation, the stable output of the second-generation product has reached 7200 bottles per hour, which is the best level known abroad.
"Plastic Industry": In addition to the second-generation FG4, are there any other new product launches or R & D plans this year?
Xie Mingfei: Through the verification basis of FG4, FG6 and FG8 will be put on the market in June and November, respectively, and can achieve stable production of 10000BPH and 13000BPH respectively. Because of the verification foundation of FG4, these two models will be launched relatively quickly. At present, the design and so on are all ready. Wait for the test machine to fully verify the energy consumption and stable output. The results can be launched after positioning. The basic models of FG4, FG6 and FG8 can be completed in 2016. After that, we will gradually introduce 1 gallon, 5L and other 4 cavity fully automatic linear PET bottle blowing machines. Our patented technology is used in this field and has great advantages. In addition, we have developed high-speed pipe production lines and crystal-free PET sheet production lines on our conventional products. The order trends in 2016 are all good.
"Plastic Industry": FAYGO UNION started as a plastic extrusion equipment product, what motivated you to decide to develop and produce a bottle blowing machine? Is the current market expansion smooth?
Xie Mingfei: There are several reasons for the decision to develop and produce a bottle blowing machine. We also have a branch company—Suzhou Yuda Compressor Co., Ltd., which mainly distributes medium and high pressure air compressors for PET bottle blowing machines, and has 10 years of industry experience. In the process of distributing air compressors, they found that it is difficult to form an industrial chain advantage without the support of a blow molding machine, and it is difficult to support one-handed. Zhangjiagang is also one of the bases for filling machines for drinking water and beverages in the country. The most important thing is that Zhangjiagang does not have a factory specializing in high-end blow molding machines. At present, some relatively high-end professional linear blow molding machine suppliers are basically concentrated in the south. Therefore, from the industrial chain base to the geographical factors, we feel that it is suitable for high-end bottle blowing machines, so we will act immediately after the opportunity is mature.
FAYGO UNION officially started to develop the blow molding machine in 2013. In order to achieve the stability, high speed and energy saving of the blow molding machine, our chief engineer comprehensively inspected the most advanced foreign versions of SIPA, SIDEL, etc. The advantages of the company completely break through the traditional thinking, developed a lightweight, highly action-saving energy-saving FG4, and obtained 5 invention patents. The official launch of FG4 in 2015, when an Anhui customer visited the national market, decided to start the prototype of FG4.
Now FG4 has been finalized and is ready to appear at the German K show. For their own research and development products, the FAYGO's standards are extremely strict, and machines that do not meet the ultra-international technical standards will not be taken out. Our blow moulding machine has reached the height that will make western customers "see the light". This is what the British customers.
American customers, Turkish customers and Spanish customers said after their inspection. They asked us whether we invited foreign engineers to participate in the design.
At present, the sales of FG4 are very good. We have engineers, debuggers and installers. We do not seek for breakthroughs, and focus on stability. The target for this year is 20 units.
Plastic Industry: What is the strategic position of your blow molding machine and extruder in your company? Is it biased?
Xie Mingfei: FAYGO UNION does not seek scale, only team and professional. We always uphold a concept: making qualified machines & being qualified person.
We started from producing the extruder of the pipe profile, and spent several years researching and developing the blow molding machine and the sheet and sheet machine, and gained some experience in team growth. At present, the scale is not large, but we have carried out share allocation and equity incentives from the beginning. With the rhythm of the listing of the New Third Board, a pipe extrusion plant, a blow molding machine branch, and a plastic sheet machine branch will be established in the future. Let professional people do professional work. For me, I will strongly support who can make a good machine, and worthy of customers and markets.
From the perspective of the product itself, the extrusion market and the blow molding market are very large. Although our blow molding machine has great technical advantages, the manufacturing, testing, and management are very complicated, and the cycle is long. I am more in favor of the view of the chief engineer, take it slowly, and then go to the market without any problems. In terms of extruded products, our team is relatively complete and the efficiency is relatively high. At present, it is still a big player in terms of sales. Therefore, a separate product cannot be considered as our strategy. Both the blow molding machine and the extruder are important for the future development of FAYGO UNION, and they are treated equally.
"Plastic Industry": Now talking about Industry 4.0, how do you think about Industry 4.0, from what aspects will FAYGO UNION move closer to this?
Xie Mingfei: I feel that my understanding of Industry 4.0 is still very shallow, maybe I haven't gotten started. The main force of our orders-domestic and foreign trade, mostly comes from Internet channels, so from the perspective of customers, we are also doing some thinking and efforts. For example, the remote control system has been installed on the FG4 launched by FAYGO UNION. Our customers at home and abroad can open the operating system on the client machine from the mobile phone when the machine fails or the PLC system will not be set. Check and configure parameters. Furthermore, if the customer agrees, we can also obtain data on the operation of the client machine. There is much data accumulation. On the one hand, we can provide reasonable suggestions to customers through comparison, such as bottle design modification, matching of front and rear equipment, etc. In addition, we can use these data to judge the economic situation of a region. For example, a customer's machine operating time has increased a lot, indicating that the customer may need to increase production capacity and buy a new machine.
Our factory is also preparing to use a high-definition camera to make an online network that can view the production process at any time, so that customers can check the progress of their orders, debugging process, etc., to help them save money and energy.
"Plastic Industry": Core competitiveness is an important capital for enterprises to be invincible. What do you think is the core competitiveness of FAYGO UNION? What are your experiences in operation and strategic deployment?
Xie Mingfei: In my heart, we are still a small factory worth mentioning. But I believe that an enterprise is a living organization. We have our own factory motto, that is, "making qualified machines&being qualified person"! In the future, if we can have a place in the industry, it should be based on this.
